What are the age/grade ranges for teams supported by EYB?
EYB fields teams boy's and girl's teams from 3rd grade through 8th grade. We also offer in-house clinics for 1st and 2nd grades.

Are there multiple teams per grade?
The number of teams is determined by the number of kids that sign up per grade.

What is the Badger Development League (BDL)?
The BDL is a regional league of like-minded communities, including Evansville, created to provide a positive developmental experience for youth boys and girls basketball players.
The BDL is a competitive developmental league and is a step up from recreational leagues.

What time commitment is required?
Generally, teams will practice two nights per week. Practices are often 90 minutes and are held at facilities in Evansville.
Each EYB team will compete in the BDL. The BDL schedule includes six weekends per season from December – February. Teams will play two or three games at a single location on either a Saturday or a Sunday on a given weekend. The sixth and final weekend of the BDL season is a one-day post-season tournament at a single location.
In addition to, and outside of, the BDL schedule, each EYB team is encouraged to play in a minimum of two tournaments. Several teams will choose to play in more than two tournaments. The tournament schedule is determined by the head coach.

My player is interested, but will have to miss some practices and/or games due to family commitments. Can he/she still sign up?
EYB encourages all players who have interest to sign up. Coaches have generally been flexible around limited absences. Head coaches ultimately are responsible for setting and enforcing any team policies related to absences from practices and games. Please communicate early and often with coaches about potential conflicts your family may have to ensure both your family and the coaching staff are on the same page.

Are there other expenses or requirements for parents?
Families are required to provide their own transportation to tournaments and games.

Who coaches the teams?
Parent volunteers generally coach teams.
